Woody from Woody’s resort and guide service ,and I went out for a few hours late in the day on 12/22/09 looking for some crappies.Well we found some and man where they nice, 13.5-15 inchers!
We kept only what we could eat.
The fish where on the bottm in 24fow,we used forage minnows tipped with a minnow head.
Rainy lake crappies it just dont get any better~
I was on the ice last Sat.There where trucks driving ouy of Bomans landing ,I took my sled out.The fishing was steady,a 24 inch walleye was the biggest ,with a few eaters and a nice pike .The fishing got worst as the weekend crowd appeared.I was setup on a break in 26 fow.There was lots of avtivity on the vexilar.
One must always use caution when on the ice anytime of the year.Ice is never completely safe.
